Letters to ELS, 1913 - 1917
Scope and Contents
Love letters from MS to ELS, with other subjects including the work of her field hospital, being awarded a palm to her Croix de Guerre by Marshal Philippe Petain, having an operation, the production of her play "The Falconbridge Scandal" in London and arranging a divorce from her husband, [George] Douglas Turner.
Also includes poems, letters of congratulation to ELS on becoming Brigadier-General from individuals including [?] General Sir Ian Hamilton, and a letter to ELS’s grandmother Lucy Hack from Jessie Gordon assuring her that she had no intention of marrying ELS (1913).
