Scope and Contents
Three letters found among the papers on European affairs and the Belgrano controversy in SPRG Accession 2054. Comprising: letter from Nigel Spearing to Austen Spearing, on his reaction to the 'Aachen Agreement' and comparisons to the 1931 May Report, 19 September 1978; letter from John Walley, on Labour's social policies during the twentieth century and the three 'Margarets' [Bondfield, Thatcher, and Beckett], 3 August 1993; and copy of letter from Spearing to Michael [White] responding to an article in the Guardian Extra with comments about Labour's policies on Europe in the 1970s, 7 July 1997.
