Biographical / Historical
The ASA organized the travelling exhibition (the so-called 'Atom Train') which attempted to present the facts about atomic energy to the public. Rotblat was one of the principal organizers of the exhibition which was shown in twenty-five UK cities from November 1947 to June 1948. The 'Atom Train' equipment was subsequently loaned to UNESCO for an atomic energy exhibition in the Lebanon which was also shown in Egypt, ending in May 1949. The ASA then made an agreement with the Scandinavian Exhibition Office for a Scandinavian-British Exhibition on Atomic Energy which was shown in a number of countries during 1949-1950, using much of the equipment from the original 'Atom Train'.
