Annotated texts of speeches by JEP on subjects including: prices and incomes policy; taxation; nationality legislation; Britain's entry into the Common Market; immigration, particularly of Asians from Uganda, and also concerning the departure from the Commonwealth of Pakistan and Bangladesh; housing; Northern Ireland; inflation; political violence, in universities and Northern Ireland; volunteer defence reserves; strikes; the Industrial Relations Act; nationalised industry, particularly the railways and mining industry; religious belief; Rhodesia [later Zambia and Zimbabwe].

Also includes copies of letters from Edward Heath as Leader of the Opposition on Conservative policy on immigration, with Foreign Office guide on immigration legislation.
