Scope and Contents

The Pollen family papers are comprised of original documents and transcriptions of original documents concerning AHP's parents, John Hungerford Pollen (1820-1902) and Maria Margaret Pollen, née La Primaudaye (1838-1919), and AHP's wife, Maud Pollen; other working papers and correspondence accumulated in the course of research into naval and family history by AHP's younger son, Anthony Pollen; and secondary works on AHP and the Pollen papers by Professor Jon Tetsuro Sumida, who was granted access to the private section of the papers before their transfer to the Churchill Archives Centre. This series also contains a small collection of photographs and a group of files of personal family ephemera, which were filed separately to AHP's files of naval papers and private and professional correspondence elsewhere in the archive.
