Professor Arthur Davies' account of the holding of the Leopold canal by 20 LAA regiment against the Germans., 1944-09
Scope and Contents
20 LAA, as part of the Canadian Army, prevented an attack south to Bruges and Ghent with the defence of the Leopold Canal. In this instance their regiment only consisted of 600 men, which found against a German force of around 40,000. The papers include details an attack made by the Germans. Also includes diagram of Scheldt Pocket showing the canal and position of troops as laid out in Davies’ account.
