The collection comprises a wide variety of material from a number of different sources which have been deemed too small to be considered individual collections in their own right and have been grouped together under the heading "miscellaneous". Subjects covered include First and Second World Wars, the Falklands Campaign, and recollections of Sir Winston Churchill.

Biographical / Historical
Sir Thomas Leslie Rowan KCB CVO was a British civil servant and industrialist. After studying at Queen’s College, Cambridge he captained the England Men’s national field hockey team before working in the Colonial Office and HM Treasury. He also served as Principal Private Secretary to both Winston Churchill and Clement Attlee.
He left the civil service in 1966 and moved into the private sector.
He died in 1972 aged 64
