Scope and Contents
Subjects include: Churchill in hussar dress uniform, 1895; in India with [?] polo ponies and Indian grooms, c 1896, and playing polo; Churchill as a war correspondent in South Africa, 1899; the armoured train [which was wrecked by the Boers on Churchill's capture]; his arrival at Pretoria as a prisoner of war and lined up with other prisoners; his arrival at Durban after his escape; with his fellow officers and with his pony as a Lieutenant in the South African Light Horse. Includes some photocopies and negatives, and correspondence on the polo playing photograph.
