Scope and Contents
Letters (copies and originals) between Clementine, Lady Churchill and MS on subjects including: life in Brussels [Belgium]; a visit to Hamburg [Germany]; CS receiving the Schuman Prize; MS's work on her biography of Clementine; a stay with Charlotte Hambro [earlier Charlotte Soames] in New York [United States] before the birth of her first baby, Clementine Hambro; MS's worries about Sarah, Lady Audley [earlier Sarah Churchill, Sarah Oliver and Sarah Beauchamp] and her life in New York.
Also includes: letters from Charlotte Hambro to her parents, on subjects including her baby, Jack Le Vien and Aunt Sarah; a letter from Sir [Arthur] Michael Palliser, enclosing a press cutting with a photograph of CS with his fellow European Commissioners, c 1976.
