"A Daughter's Tale": family correspondence, 1965, 1965-02 - 2000-08
Scope and Contents
Letters between Clementine, Lady Churchill and MS on subjects including: Clementine's gratitude to MS for her support [following Sir Winston Churchill's death]; plans for the new back staircase and gardens at Chartwell [Kent]; various small bequests to friends and family; MS's holiday in Sutherland [Scotland].
Also includes: a copy of a letter from MS to Anthony Montague Browne [former Private Secretary to Churchill], written on the day of Churchill's funeral, on her gratitude for all that he had done for Churchill and the family; a letter from Wolfgang von Tirpitz to Clementine, sending his condolences.
