Scope and Contents
Letters (mainly copies), between Clementine, Lady Churchill, MS, Sarah Beauchamp [earlier Sarah Churchill and Sarah Oliver, later Sarah, Lady Audley] and Sir Winston Churchill on subjects including: Sarah's engagement to 23rd Lord Audley; Churchill's broken hip; the death of CS's father Arthur Soames, and Churchill's feelings for his own father; MS's holiday in Scotland; the death of Churchill's poodle Rufus; Churchill's views on joining the Common Market (following a statement to the press by 1st Lord Montgomery of Alamein on the subject); Sarah's arrest and stay in a nursing home in Brighton [Sussex].
Also includes a pamphlet on the photographs of Milton Gendel [husband of MS's cousin Judy Montagu].
