"A Daughter's Tale": family correspondence, 1952, 1952-01 - 2000-08
Scope and Contents
Letters, mainly between Clementine Churchill and MS, with two from MS to Sarah Beauchamp [earlier Sarah Churchill and Sarah Oliver, later Sarah, Lady Audley] on subjects including: the Churchill Houses for the elderly; Christmas 1951; Sarah's success; the birth of Jeremy Soames; visitors at Chartwell [Kent] during the summer, including [Robert] Anthony Eden [later 1st Lord Avon] and Clarissa Eden [earlier Clarissa Churchill, later Clarissa, Lady Avon]; MS's and CS's stay at Beauly [Scotland].
Also includes: a copy of a letter from Clementine to 1st Lord Beaverbrook [earlier Max Aitken] on his lending them a house in [?] Italy; copy of the draft introduction by Augustus John to the catalogue of a special exhibition of Winston Churchill's paintings at the Royal Academy.
