Scope and Contents
Copies and originals of family correspondence between MS, Clementine Churchill, Sarah Beauchamp [earlier Sarah Churchill and Sarah Oliver, later Sarah, Lady Audley], CS, Diana Sandys [earlier Diana Churchill and Diana Bailey] and Randolph Churchill on subjects including: Sarah's tour of the United States with ["The Philadelphia Story"]; her happiness with Antony Beauchamp; Emma Soames's health; Sarah's life in California; Winston and Clementine's stay in Madeira; MS and CS's stay with 2nd Duke of Westminster [earlier Lord Belgrave] at Lochmore in Sutherland [Scotland]; CS missing MS while she was in Spain with Clementine.
Also includes: a memoir by the wife of the actor Jack Buchanan on sailing on the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary at various times with the Churchills, being present at the unveiling of the portrait of Churchill by Graham Sutherland and seeing Churchill in Parliament on his return after stepping down as Prime Minister, 1955; text of Randolph's speech on his adoption as Conservative candidate for Devonport.
