Scope and Contents
Briefings, correspondence etc on NK’s visit to Ireland, including: notes of meetings with members of the Anglo-Irish division of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin; rough notes of meeting with Charles Haughey, Taoiseach; report by [Joseph] Kevin McNamara, Northern Ireland spokesman, on his visit in Feb 1990, and meetings with Haughey, Dick Spring, leader of the Irish Labour Party and Alan Dukes, leader of Fine Gael; briefings on Ireland’s presidency of the European Community, the Inter-Governmental Conferences, the Anglo-Irish Agreement and the British/Irish Parliamentary Body. Also includes note for NK’s visit in June 1990 and correspondence on possible legal claims following a heart attack suffered by NK’s driver on the way back to Dublin airport, Sept 1989.
