Copies of letters between Deutsch, Khan and members of their families, including some translated pages, on subjects including: morale and the state of industry in Germany; the American attitude to Germany; responsibility for the war; the role of the United States; Germany's use of horror tactics.

Other correspondents include Laurense Alma-Tadema, on subjects including Walt Whitman, "The Portrait of Dorian Grey", her writing, George Bernard Shaw and the death of Emma Kahn (5).
