On subjects including expecting Zeppelins [air raids] that evening; Maudie [Lady Maud] Warrender telling Lady Randolph that the Navy and [Admiral Sir John] Jellicoe [later 1st Lord Jellicoe] were in despair about the blockade [of Germany]; questions to be asked in the House of Commons about "Geordie" Sutherland [George, 5th Duke of Sutherland] getting command of motor boats [motor flotilla sailing between Egypt and the Adriatic sea]; Sir John Leslie dying; and meeting Eustace Fiennes.
