Part 1 includes a copy of a speech proposing the toast at a dinner of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law at Britannic House, London, 19 July 1982; a letter from Kit Owen [1st Battalion, Royal Green Jackets], about the Regent's Park bombing, 24 July 1982; the published version of a speech on legal aid given as the Lund Lecture to the Law Society, 1982; and a copy of a farewell speech to Tom Denning, Baron Denning, 30 July 1982.
