Scope and Contents
Letters sent by GJ while at the British legation in Tehran [Iran] on subjects including: British relations with the new Shah; a visit to Shiraz; the Shah's coronation; GJ's difficult relations with the British Minister to Persia [now Iran], Sir Percy Loraine; [?] Patrick Buchan-Hepburn [later 1st Lord Hailes] turning up with acute malaria; Victoria Nicolson [Vita Sackville-West]'s book "Passenger to Teheran" and Harold Nicolson's book ["Some People"]; the arrival of Robert Clive, the new minister.
Also includes: photographs of local scenes and embassy staff, including Harold Nicolson; the programme for the coronation; a letter from Nicolson on GJ's health and their friendship.
