Correspondence and papers relating to the Young Women's Christian Association, including: research notes by Mary Soames [earlier Mary Churchill] for her biography of Clementine, on her resignation as President of the YWCA War and National Service Fund; text of Clementine's broadcast on behalf of the YWCA, 1947; correspondence between her, [William] Mackenzie King [Prime Minister of Canada] and John McConnell [Canadian philanthropist and owner of the Montreal Star] on King's regret that he had had to leave [the Commonwealth Prime Ministers' Conference, 1948] because of his health and McConnell's attempts to send gifts to Clementine and Mary Churchill; text of Clementine's speech [on becoming Chairman of the National Hostels Committee of the YWCA], 1948; correspondence with the YWCA on subjects including Clementine's broadcast, 1947, an appeal by her to Charlie Chaplin on behalf of the YWCA and visits to hostels; papers on the 1949 YWCA conference, including Clementine's speech notes; notes on the Special Hostels Fund; speech notes for the opening of the new YWCA headquarters at Bedford House, 1953; speech notes for the 1950 Wardens' conference.
