Letters to Clementine, mainly letters of sympathy after the General Election, with correspondents including: Sir Archibald Clark Kerr [British Ambassador to the Soviet Union, later 1st Lord Inverchapel], on his own distress at the result, and the reaction of the Russians at the Potsdam Conference; Sir Cyril Asquith; General Sir Hastings Ismay; Sir Edward Marsh; Gertrude, Lady Grigg; 1st Lord Altrincham, earlier Sir Edward Grigg; Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Eric Crankshaw; Sir William Fletcher Shaw; Eleanor Rathbone; Ada, 3rd Lady Roberts; Margaret, 2nd Lady Rhondda; John McConnell, President of the Montreal Star; Muriel, Lady Wood; 1st Lord Moran [earlier Charles Wilson, Churchill's doctor], also on the good that Churchill's holiday in Italy was doing him, and on his having to wear a truss (2); Violet Carruthers [Violet Markham]; Gunilla, Lady Barnes. Also includes a poem by [Alfred] Duff Cooper [later 1st Lord Norwich] which he had written in tribute to Churchill.
