Scope and Contents
Letters to Mary Jeune [earlier Mary Stanley, later Lady St Helier] and also to Francis Jeune [later 1st Lord St Helier], from: Joseph Chamberlain, sympathising with her on an accident, on the importance of the forthcoming General Election, 1885, and his depression about the amount of speaking involved and the improved health and forthcoming marriage of Sir Charles Dilke; Lord Randolph Churchill on subjects including his sudden departure abroad following his break with the Conservatives, 1887, following Jeune's advice, 1889, meeting Robert Finlay and his dislike for Henrietta Labouchere (5).
Previously misidentified as letters to "Miss Jennie", ie Lady Randolph Churchill.
