Acland Hood, on plans for the General Election campaign; General Sir Robert Adam on Croft's proposed paper on army cadets; 1st Lord Alanbrooke, Chief of Imperial General Staff, on subjects including Croft's proposal on army cadets and the shortage of aircraft and divisions for a proposed airborne invasion; 17th Duke of Alba, Spanish Ambassador to Britain, on subjects including the Spanish Government's refusal to give up any territory or allow foreign-controlled bases within their territory, 1938, the foolish policy of the French Government in strengthening General Franco's position, 1946, Alba's views on the wisdom of having opposed Communism in Spain, and Franco's unpopularity, 1947 (14).
