Scope and Contents
Bound scrapbook containing William Bull's account of the life of his father, Henry Bull, from after his marriage until his death; and a typescript account by William Bull of his own early recollections of family and everyday life in late-nineteenth century London, including memories of childhood games, toys, shopping, holidays, health, and relationships with other Bull family members and friends. William Bull described the accounts, compiled in 1908 and 1929, thus: ‘It is a history of the ups and downs of a middle class family betraying all the characteristics of human nature in a small microcosm of its own.’
