Includes: letter from Sir Edward Grey to 4th Marquess of Salisbury on foreign affairs and debate in parliament (1923); letters from Burgis to Stephen Roskill and Ian Jacob regarding Lord Alanbrooke's diary and command of the 8th Army; chart of Operation Husky [codename for Allied landings in Sicily] (1943); "Time and consumption chart" showing alcohol, cigars etc. consumed at a party to commemorate Ismay's promotion to General (1944); a poem about the War Cabinet Secretariat; a letter from Sir Rupert Howarth on Hankey's treatment of Burgis; and a copy letter from Burgis recalling his experience of Sir Winston Churchill.
