Full-length photograph of "Jack", John S Churchill, on board the hospital ship 'Maine', with his mother Lady Randolph Churchill [earlier Jennie Jerome]. Jack Churchill is in uniform, facing the camera while standing leaning on a cane with his arm through that of Lady Randolph. She is also facing the camera, wearing a full-length white nursing uniform, holding Jack's hat in one hand, and resting the other hand on a wall, while one foot is raised on the wooden ledge between the ship's deck and the open door of a highly-furnished cabin.
