Scope and Contents
This series spans LSA's career, including: his early letters as a war correspondent with the Times in South Africa; material from his varied military and political service in the First World War; ministerial papers as First Lord of the Admiralty, then Secretary of State for the Colonies; papers from a wider range of subjects while LSA was out of office in the 1930's; Cabinet papers and India Office papers while LSA was Secretary of State for India in the Second World War; and finally the non-ministerial wartime papers and more material reflecting LSA's lifelong concern for the Empire and economic matters.
