Minutes and papers from various committees of which JA was a member, including: the Museum of Empire and Commonwealth Trust; the Conservative Council on Eastern Europe; the Parliamentary Maritime Group's South West Atlantic Group (relating to the Falklands Islands, particularly fisheries and a new Antarctic patrol vessel to replace HMS Endurance); the British Horn of Africa Council (see also 1/10/38-42); Friends of the Union, on Northern Ireland, including correspondence with Ian Gow; the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, including minutes of evidence given by JA on Cyprus; the Watching Committee, mainly on Northern Ireland; the Conservative Party's Northern Ireland Committee.

Conditions Governing Access
The majority of the papers are open for consultation by researchers using Churchill Archives Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge, though the constituency papers and some of the correspondence and political papers remain closed.
