Scope and Contents
Copies of telegrams to Sir Hugh Foot, Governor of Cyprus, [later Lord Caradon] from the Colonial Office, the Foreign Office and the Foreign Secretary [John Selwyn-Lloyd] and Secretary of State for the Colonies [Iain Macleod] on the independence negotiations.
Also includes some press cuttings and records of Foreign Office meetings on Cyprus in Jan 1960, including conversations between Selwyn Lloyd, Archbishop Makarios and Fazil Kutchuk [President and Vice-President of Cyprus], and draft notes of meetings between JA, Makarios and Kutchuk.
