Scope and Contents
Telegrams from JA's first visit to Cyprus (and also before and after the visit), between JA, the Colonial Office, Sir Hugh Foot [Governor of Cyprus, later Lord Caradon], the Secretary of State for the Colonies [Iain Macleod] the Foreign Office and the British embassies in Ankara [Turkey] and Athens [Greece] on the independence negotiations, particularly administration of sovereign base areas.
Also includes draft accounts of meetings between JA, Archbishop Makarios and Fazil Kutchuk [President and Vice-President of Cyprus], a summary of the negotiations and Greek and Turkish press comment.
