Scope and Contents

JA tended not to keep a regular diary for sustained periods, but concentrated on special events, such as overseas visits. In some cases they were first dictated on to a Dictaphone (see AMEJ 11/8), and then typed up, in other cases a typed version was produced from rough notes.

The majority of the papers are open for consultation by researchers using Churchill Archives Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge, though the constituency papers and some of the correspondence and political papers remain closed.
