Arrangement
The original arrangement, with some years split alphabetically, A-K and L-Z and some split chronologically, Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec, has been retained. There is also some filing inconsistency with the same correspondents being filed in different places within the file depending on the year. Up to 1953 files were labelled as personal correspondence, but are exactly the same as what was called general correspondence from 1953-1972, and then personal correspondence again from 1973 onwards, so to avoid confusion, all files are now labelled as general correspondence.
