Subjects covered include: relations with members of United Nations committees; discussions surrounding China and Kashmir [region in China, India and Pakistan]; Cadogan's reflections on his diary-writing and personal archive, including scrapbooks; Cadogan's retirement from the United Nations; the family's relocation to London and notes on interior decoration, shopping, and household provisioning; Cadogan's appointment to the boards of the National Provincial Bank and the Phoenix Assurance Company; meeting with Elizabeth Monroe at the offices of "The Economist" to discuss the Acheson Plan; negotiations over Cadogan's appointment as a Government Director of the Suez Canal Company; preparations for lectures and other speaking engagements; Cadogan's comments on concerts, museums, and other leisure activities.
