Conducted on behalf of the Peterlee Development Corporation Architect Planner's Department.
Surveys conducted in July and September 1948 about the existing population of the district in order to inform the Corporation in planning the New Town, covering household composition and population, employment, accommodation, and access to and care of garden and allotments. Includes book of further tabulations produced in the following year with data on the household structures of the 'types of family likely to move into the new town'.
