Correspondents include: Sir Harold Caccia, British Ambassador to the United States, on FR and 1st Lord Inchyra [earlier Frederick Hoyer Millar, Permanent Under-Secretary of State, Foreign Office] sorting out affairs in Berlin, and his view on the American contribution to the military situation in Germany; Dirk Stikker on becoming Secretary General of NATO and poor relations between the United States and Soviet Union; Sir Patrick Dean, Deputy Under-Secretary of State, Foreign Office; 1st Lord Montgomery of Alamein, Deputy-Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, enclosing a report on his meeting with Josip Tito, President of Yugoslavia, September 1958, on Tito's views on the Middle East, Far East, the Soviet Union versus China and Montgomery's own opinion of Tito; Sir Norman Brook, Cabinet Secretary [later 1st Lord Normanbrook] asking for FR's comments (enclosed) on Sir [Ernest] Llewellyn Woodward's history of British foreign policy during the Second World War (2).
