A series of love letters sent by Sir Robert Woodburn Gillan to Lady Maysie Fisher over the course of 1935 and 1936.
Before his retirement in 1920, Sir Robert Woodburn Gillan K.C.S.I (1867-1943) worked in various roles including as the Barrister at Law for the Indian Civil Service and as Comptroller and Auditor for the General of the Financial Department of the Government of India.
Gillan was married to Mary Emma Caroline Woodburn (née Van Baerle) (1863-1936). They had two children, George Van Baerle Gillan (1890-1974) and Iris Mary Kendall (née Gillan) (1907-1988).
