Warren Fisher draft book manuscript, 1940
Scope and Contents
A draft book manuscript written by Warren Fisher, with some annotations in pen and pencil. This manuscript is undated, but in Chapter 17, Fisher refers to ‘present war’, which was most likely the Second World War. Fisher offers a historical account of political and social change in Britain and Ireland from the nineteenth through to the twentieth century and includes discussions of his professional endeavours.
The draft manuscript is split into two parts. The first part includes seventeen chapters covering the period from late-nineteenth century to July 1919, the second includes two chapters titled ‘bureaucracy’ and ‘the contribution of woman’.
