The bulk of Jones’ correspondence was found with the material to which it related, comparatively little correspondence was set aside by Jones. This section therefore presents those sequences of Jones’ correspondence which were not found with material relating to his research, publications, societies and organisations etc.

The chief components are the contents of Jones’ box files titled ‘Oxford’, ‘HH’ (Harold Hartley) and ‘HCT’ (Henry Cobden Turner). There are many references and recommendations, and some miscellaneous shorter correspondence.
