Correspondents include: William Warbey, inviting AFB to a conference on Vietnam, held in Florence [Italy], April 1965 and on his plan for a Peace in Vietnam committee (4), also enclosing letters from [John] Jeremy Thorpe and Shirley Williams on the plan; Philip Noel-Baker [earlier Philip Baker] on an open letter to be signed by Nobel Peace Prize winners in protest against the Vietnam War; Frederic Smedley, enclosing a copy of his testimony at an informal Congressional hearing in New York [United States] calling for a change in American policy on Vietnam; [Robert] Michael Stewart, Foreign Secretary, on AFB's report of his talks in Moscow [Soviet Union] about the conditions for peace in Vietnam [enclosed]; Reginald Prentice, Minister of State, Department of Education and Science; Maurice Foley, Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Economic Affairs, on a series of lectures by the Slough Workers' Educational Association; 2nd Lord Shepherd, Government Chief Whip, House of Lords, on a Question by AFB; Benjamin Whitaker on his regret at AFB's loss of his constituency.
