Correspondents on AFB's visit to Jordan as part of an Inter-Parliamentary Union delegation, and on the Middle East more generally, include: Jennie Lee [Janet Bevan], Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Education and Science, on British Council interest in mounting performances at Roman sites in Jordan (2); Barbara Castle, Minister of Overseas Development, on proposed development projects in Jordan; Afek Al Fayez, Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, and Said Al Mufti, President of the Senate, on AFB's visit; Sir Geoffrey Furlonge, Treasurer of the Friends of the Arab Development Society, on AFB's appeal on behalf of a school in Jericho set up by the Society.
