Scope and Contents
Press cuttings, correspondence and other materials relating to AFB's visit to Kenya, Zambia and Tanzania, December 1978-January 1979. Correspondents include: Julius Nyerere, President of Tanzania; Lombe Chibesakunda, Zambian High Commissioner to Britain; [Anthony] Tony Benn, Secretary of State for Energy; Justus Mugo Muratha.
Also includes: a press statement from Liberation on AFB's 90th birthday, with a note from Lord Willis on arrangements for his birthday party; statement by AFB on the future of Zimbabwe; briefing papers from Amnesty International on human rights in Kenya and Tanzania; speech by Justus Mugo Muratha on AFB's visit to his home, and his gratitude to AFB for his help to Kenya in 1952 [during the Mau Mau uprising].
