Scope and Contents
Papers relating to AFB's unofficial visits to Kenya and Uganda in 1950 and 1963, including: press cuttings on the 1950 visit; annotated draft text of the agreement with European, Asian and African members of the Kenya legislature, 1954, with amendments by Michael Blundell [founder of the United Country Party], on social conditions, land registration, co-operative farming and the colour bar; a copy of the Kenya Independence Day souvenir, 1963, issued by the Kenya Indian Congress and signed by Indira Gandhi; issue of Liberation, 1979, with an article by AFB on the Arusha conference and its Declaration of Third World Self-Reliance.
Also includes a note from John Grey [Clerk Assistant and Clerk of Public Bills, House of Lords] apologising for a mistake with the number of questions AFB asked in the House of Lords, and a letter of thanks from a student group who had visited Parliament, 1981.
