Scope and Contents
Photographs of the D-Day landings in Normandy [France], including Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay [Allied Naval Commander-in-Chief, Expeditionary Force] with General Dwight Eisenhower [Supreme Commander Allied Expeditionary Force in Western Europe] and Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery [Commander-in-Chief British Group of Armies and Allied Armies, Northern France] aboard HMS Apollo, Winston Churchill, King George VI inspecting the troops and also General Charles de Gaulle.
Also includes: a small number of general naval images, both from the war and later in Davis's career, one from Admiral Ramsay’s funeral, January 1945.
