(Untitled), 22 Apr 1947
Scope and Contents
Letter from Sir Bernard Freyberg [Governor-General of New Zealand] (Government House, Auckland, New Zealand) to WSC, explaining that he was sending him a food parcel via RMS Rimutaka. Freyberg details the food in the parcel: sugar, honey, dripping, steak and kidney pudding, cheese, tongues, chocolate, milk powder, laundry soap and toilet soap. He also explains how the parcel would be forwarded from New Zealand House in London, and adds in a postscript that WSC should have received a further ham and some bacon by now. Signed typescript, annotated with a comment that the ship had only left Auckland five days before Freyberg had written.
