Typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 35 "On the Eve", annotated with suggested amendments and corrections by various people including WSC, Denis Kelly, Charles Wood, Lt-General Sir Henry Pownall and Commodore [George] Gordon Allen File also includes notes by Kelly, letter from Sir Alan Lascelles, PS to King George VI to WSC, on publication of correspondence between WSC and The King on the possibility of them observing the D Day landings, with Lascelles' account of the incident, correspondence between WSC, Pownall, and Lt-General Sir Leslie Hollis, 1947, on the transport of the 2nd Free French (Leclerc) Armoured Division, Apr 1944; notes by Lord Ismay on his recollection of the days leading up to D Day; correspondence with Sir Bruce White, (2) 1946, on the award of honours to engineers working on the Mulberry Harbours, with copy of his pamphlet "The Mulberry Harbours" and notes by Lord Ismay on events between 2 and 5 June 1944.
