Includes typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 27 "Moscow. The First Meeting" and Chapter 28 "Moscow. A relationship established" annotated with suggested amendments and corrections by various people including Denis Kelly, William Deakin, WSC, CSC, Charles Wood, 1st Lord Ismay, Sir Edward Marsh, Emery Reves [earlier Imre Revesz], Sir Norman Brook [later 1st Lord Normanbrook, Secretary to the Cabinet] and Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall.Also includes: outline notes by WSC for the chapter on his meeting and informal discussions with Stalin and a poem by General Archibald Wavell entitled "Ballade of the Second Front" (dated to August 1942).Most of the material in the file dates to 1948-1952.
