Includes typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 26 "My Journey to Cairo. Changes in Command" annotated with suggested amendments and corrections by various people including Denis Kelly, William Deakin, WSC, Charles Wood, 1st Lord Ismay, Sir Edward Marsh, Sir Norman Brook [later 1st Lord Normanbrook, Secretary to the Cabinet], Emery Reves [earlier Imre Revesz] and Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall.Also includes some source material including: copies of telegrams from WSC on subjects including the re-organisation of command in the Middle East, supplies of aircraft and Sherman tanks to the Middle East and the death of Lieutenant-General [William] Gott; a letter from Monica Horne of Life Magazine with information about a pilot named Vanderkloot; and galley proofs of telegrams relating to events in India in 1942.
