Includes typescript and galley proofs of Appendix A (Abbreviations), Appendix B (Codenames), Appendix C (Prime Minister's Personal Minutes and Telegrams, 1941), Appendix E (Monthly totals of shipping losses), Appendix H (Prime Minister's telegrams to the government of Australia), Appendix I (the British Purchasing Commission in the United States), Appendix J (The Anglo-American Russian conference), Appendix K (fleet dispositions in the Indian Ocean), Appendix L (tanks for the Middle East), Appendix M (Naval directives and minutes, 1941), and Appendix N (ministerial appointments for 1941). The proofs have been annotated by various individuals with comments and corrections including: WSC, Charles Wood, Denis Kelly, William Deakin, [George] Gordon Allen, Sir Edward Marsh, and Sir Norman Brook [later 1st Lord Normanbrook, Secretary to the Cabinet] .Also includes some source material including: a War Cabinet paper on the coastal defences of Italian ports; and a table giving information on the coast defences in Libya, Turkey, Ethiopia and Somalia.Correspondents include: Allen (6), Kelly (4), Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall (2), Alfred Bavin of the Cabinet Office and Norman Brook.The appendices are listed under the letter under which they appeared in published form.
