Includes typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 27 entitled "The Mounting Strength of Britain" (provisionally entitled ""The British Army for 1942", "Our Army for 1942" and "The Enduring Strength of Britain"). Annotated with notes and suggestions by various people including: WSC, Denis Kelly, William Deakin, Charles Wood, Sir Edward Marsh, Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall, 1st Lord Ismay, [George] Gordon Allen, and ?1st Lord Alanbrooke [earlier Field Marshal Alan Brooke].Also includes some source material including a memorandum by the Lord President of the Council [Sir John Anderson, later 1st Lord Waverley] on manpower dating to November 1941; notes from Allen; and parts of a chapter entitled "Success against the U Boats".
