Includes typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 27 entitled [Benito] "Mussolini Attacks Greece", annotated with suggested amendments and corrections by various individuals including: WSC, William Deakin, Charles Wood, Denis Kelly, George [Gordon] Allen, CSC, Anthony Eden [later 1st Lord Avon], 1st Lord Ismay and Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall.Some source material is also present in the file including: notes on the Greek campaign in Albania, 1940 - 1941; copy of a report by Air Vice-Marshal John d'Albiac, Air Officer Commanding in Greece, on air operations in Greece 1940 - 1941 (1941); notes by Allen on the Fleet Air Arm attack on Taranto [Italy] and operation "Collar" (Allied convoy through the Mediterranean, 1940); copy of an Admiralty message on redistributing the Fleet in the Mediterranean (November 1940).Also includes: letter from Sir Edward Bridges [Secretary to the Cabinet]; notes by Lettice Marston [later Lettice Shillingford] and Anne Hipwell, WSC's secretaries.The majority of items in the file date to 1946 - 1948.
