Includes typescript and galley proofs of Chapter 9 entitled "The French Agony" (provisionally entitled "The Agony of France"), annotated with suggested amendments and corrections by various individuals including: WSC, William Deakin, Charles Wood, Denis Kelly, Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pownall, Sir Edward Marsh and [?] 1st Lord Ismay.Also includes: extracts from telegrams from WSC to heads of state including Jan Smuts [Prime Minister of South Africa] and Franklin Roosevelt [President of the United States]; galley proofs provisionally intended to feature in Chapters 2 - 3, "The Battle of France"; galley proofs from Chapter 7 "Back to France", provisionally intended for Chapter 9.
